A Director's Vision

I have loved The Rocky Horror Show since I first heard the album at the age of 16. Now, 24 years later, I am finally getting to direct it. It's an exciting and challenging task, to direct a show with such a huge fan base without simply repeating what has already been done.

Our production will be original: the emphasis will be on the horror movie parody aspects of the play, as well as the campy sexiness of it. We will avoid the traditional sequins & glitter associated with The Rocky Horror Show, and replace them with leather, rubber, and other assorted industrial fabrics.

This Rocky Horror Show will tell the story of 2 kids from '50s America thrown into a bizarre world of 21st century sexuality in all its permutations. Dr. Frank N. Furter and his companions come from another planet where they have viewed the mannerisms of earthlings by monitoring old horror movies sent through our satellite signals, and they have combined their interests in sex with their fascination with gothic horror, resulting in a gritty, raunchy, rock 'n' roll comedy.

Enjoy the Show,

A Note from our Founder & Executive Producer

We are excited to embark upon our production of Richard O'Brien's infamous, raunchy and wickedly fun, The Rocky Horror Show. Korda Productions was founded in January of 2003 and produced its first show, Side by Side by Sondheim in February of 2003.

Korda Productions is operated by members who all share a passion for live theatre and are committed to producing shows that are particularly suited to the company because of their unusual, risqué, challenging, provocative and original content. We want to provide an alternative to the mainstream and develop an audience which appreciates the uncommon.

I invite you to become a part of this exciting new endeavour and help us bring The Rocky Horror Show to life. Your contributions will ensure that professional theatre continues to provide our unique community with cultural growth and the high caliber productions and entertainment it deserves.

Sincerely,

Tracey Atin

Richard K. O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show: A Brief History

It was in London, 1973, at a tiny theatre in Chelsea that a new musical opened, a musical which 30 years later has grossed more than $200 million and has become one of the most successful shows ever to hit the stage.

The Rocky Horror Show was written by Richard O'Brien, an author and often out-of-work actor. His show was such a success in London that it wasn't long before it showed up in Los Angeles. There it opened in March 1974, at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip. It was from this show that a film deal was secured and a cult hit was on the way to pleasing and tantalizing audiences all over the world.

Thank you Mr. Richard O'Brien for 30 years of The Rocky Horror Show!
